**Job Summary**:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our team. The Legal Assistant will provide administrative support to our clients and assist with various tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our clients' backoffice.

**Duties**:

- Book trust and financial information into legal billing software such as Clio;
- Record dockets and reimbursable expenses;
- Prepare invoices for approval from lawyers and issue to clients once approved;
- Communicate with Managing Partners on discrepancies in individual matters;
- Communicate with clients regarding billing, trust funds and any issues;
- Work with the Trust Accountant to reconcile the trust account at the end of the month;
- Assist with project management by tracking deadlines and coordinating with team members;
- Organize and maintain physical and electronic files;
- Perform clerical duties, including answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, and managing calendars; and
- Any other admin, financial or bookkeeping tasks as required.

This position is in-person and conducted at our Vaughan Office.

**Qualifications**:

- 2 years experience as a Legal Assistant or similar role;
- Diploma or Certificate from a Canadian Post-Secondary Instiution for Legal Assistant or Legal Clerk;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Strong clerical skills, including data entry, filing, and managing calendars;
- Experience with trust accounting, matter management and legal billing;
- Familiarity with Law Society Bylaws in Canada and/or Bar Association Bylaws in the US is considered an asset; and
- Experience with Clio and Quickbooks Online is considered an asset;
**Compensation**:

- Salary Range: $45,000 - $55,000

Please note that all positions at our company are paid positions. We offer competitive compensation packages based on qualifications and experience.

Pay: $45,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
