Are you passionate about literacy and essential skills building and want to support adult learners from diverse backgrounds build foundational skills for success in work, learning and life?

LNH Adult Learning Centre is a community-based, non-profit, charity. We provide local, high-quality literacy and essential skills instruction to adults in support of their personal goals for independence, employment, and further education or training, particularly to those most in need. Our services actively support adult learners in the communities of Halton to build their essential reading, writing, basic math, and digital literacy skills. We encourage community support and promote literacy awareness.

We are currently seeking a **Literacy & Basic Skills (LBS) Program Coordinator** to work in South Halton, with travel to Milton and Halton Hills.

This position is part-time, contract (renewable annually); 3 days per week including Wednesday evenings.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Program Coordination - assessment, facilitation, evaluation; small group and individual tutoring
- Instructor and Volunteer Coordination - organize and collaborate with instructors and volunteer tutors; support tutor recruitment, training, and orientation
- Community Outreach - deliver information sessions; network and promote literacy and programs
- Reporting and Follow-up - complete all required system and paper-based learner documentation
- Resource Coordination - curriculum selection and updates; on-site program and resources support
- Adhere to all LNH Adult Learning Centre policies, procedures, and standards.

**Qualifications and Skills Required**:

- Post-secondary education, with experience in an adult program coordination and assessment role
- Experience working with volunteers and adults with multiple barriers from diverse backgrounds
- Excellent administrative skills and experience; strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment, and remotely as required
- Strong oral and written communication skills; experience with training materials selection
- Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships with community partners and local agencies
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace.

**Additional Knowledge and Experience**:

- Experience working in a non-profit, charity organization (ie. staff or volunteer)
- Experience facilitating small group training; training/teaching adult learners
- Knowledge of Employment Ontario programs and services, including the Literacy & Basic Skills (LBS) Program
- Familiarity with the Ontario Adult Literacy Curriculum Framework (OALCF).

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months
Part-time hours: 18 per week

**Salary**: $25.00-$28.00 per hour
