**Basic Function**:
Reporting to the Recreation/Culture Coordinator, the Camps Area Coordinator - Inclusion will assist in the operation, delivery and evaluation of the Town of Oakville Summer Camp Programs and provide supervision and leadership to the Senior Leaders - Inclusion and Inclusion Support Workers.

**Responsibilities**:

- Majority of responsibility is administrative work including but not limited to program supervision, staff and volunteer supervision
- Train, supervise, guide and evaluate the Senior Leader - Inclusion and Inclusion Support Workers in their program planning capacity and its implementation for program participants
- Support the objectives and philosophies of the Summer Program as established by the Recreation and Culture department
- Adhere to department prescribed policies and procedures
- Support and promote the HIGH FIVE "Principles of Healthy Child Development" (PHCD)
- Follow and implement all Health and Safety regulations, COVID-19 Protocols and Public Health Guidelines

**Specific Duties**:

- Attend all mandatory staff functions from May - September 2024 Including but not limited to: Play Leader/Inclusion Support Workers camp interviews, camp training, scheduled shifts, staff meetings, site clean ups and all allocated program times
- Assist with delivery of all staff training
- Arrive at the program site in time to properly prepare for the day's program, meet with staff and start programs according to schedule
- Meet with the Recreation/Culture Coordinator at regularly scheduled times
- Meet with the Senior Leaders - Inclusion, on-site, at a regularly scheduled times and assist them, when necessary with program quality assurance issues
- Ensure the continuing safety of all participants and staff while at the program and document all accidents/incidents immediately. All accident/incident reports and Worker Compensation forms must be received by the department within 24 hours
- Prepare and conduct appropriate leadership training for leadership staff prior to the commencement of programs and throughout the summer
- Maintain accurate records and reports pertaining to all administrative matters associated with the leadership staff
- Supervise with regularity, the leadership staff and evaluate the program design and delivery to ensure they are upholding department programs policies, procedures, standards and safety and the HIGH FIVE principles of healthy child development
- Initiate and monitor progressive discipline of staff and participants as required
- Resolve major emergencies, incidents, behaviour and conduct issues, beyond the scope of the Senior Leader - Inclusion’s function, of staff and participants, in accordance to acceptable procedures
- Coordinate the distribution of all necessary program materials and supplies and pertinent information to leadership staff and act as a knowledgeable resource for them
- Work effectively with coworkers, leadership staff, participants and the public at large
- Ensure that all persons attending are properly registered and recorded on class lists and necessary medical information and emergency contact names are correct and available.
- Attend all mandatory staff functions: training, staff meetings and site clean-ups and all allocated program times
- Conduct a weekly area meeting with the support of the Recreation/Culture Coordinator
- Immediately notify the Recreation/Culture Coordinator of any problem(s) and/or recommendations regarding staff, participants, parents, facilities or contract services which may affect the program
- In collaboration with the on-site Senior Leader - Inclusion, prepare and present staff performance appraisals
- Ensure all paper work including vehicle circle checks and a formal year-end report are completed in a timely and professional manner and submitted to the Recreation/Culture Coordinator
- Any other duties that may be assigned by the Recreation/Culture Coordinator

**Qualifications**:

- Demonstrated child management ability and experience working with persons with disabilities
- Enrollment in a college/university related program
- Crisis Prevention intervention (CPI) or Behavior Management Systems Training (BMST) an asset
- Knowledge of program adaptations and behavior modification techniques
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory ability
- Strong problem solving and effective program planning skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Previous work experience with children with disabilities, experience with one on one support (feeding, changing, toileting, etc.) and behaviour management is an asset
- Must hold a current First Aid Certificate at the emergency level wi
