**ABOUT THE ROLE**

The Intake Coordinator Act as primary contact for all calls and requests for organization’s services or self-referrals to internal and/or external programming.

**_ Salary range:_** _$26.78 to $31.18 per hour_

This position is represented by OPSEU local 567.

This position operates on 17.5 hours per week and is a one-year contract.

**WHAT YOU WILL DO**
- Provide efficient responsiveness to each caller in a timely manner.
- Screen referrals to Strides Toronto in accordance with the Ministry and Strides policies and procedures, and to facilitate and ensure clients’ referral to an appropriate Strides service or other community program.
- Ensure on going consultation with program managers in order to provide responsive and accessible intake services in a timely manner to clinical programs at Strides Toronto to remove barriers to service.
- Utilize data from assessments and screening tools, to determine service and priority needs of client and communicate with internal and external partners to ensure the client gains access to receive the required treatment/ programming in a timely manner.
- Maintain a positive working environment, contribute to the organization’s mission and statement, and follow the organizational policies and procedures.

**THE “MUST HAVES”**

The following education, professional memberships and knowledge are a requirement for this role:

- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Social Sciences, Psychology or BACYC.
- Two years’ experience in children’s mental health services.
- Skilled in accurate documentation.
- Ability to manage crisis phone calls and support callers in the moment.
- Awareness of the role of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace and within the community being served by the position.
- An understanding of anti-black racism, anti-oppressive/anti-racism perspective in the context of the social determinants of health.
- Ability to recognize and identify situations where incidents of imbalance of power and privilege may occur and can result in possible negative impacts.

**THE ‘NICE TO HAVES’**
- Functional computer and client information system knowledge.
- Fluency in another language(s), including sign language.
