**Work Schedule**: 4 business days / 32 hours per week

**Work Location**: Arts Court, 2 Daly Ave

**Job Summary**: The IFFO is Ottawa’s newest film festival hosted by the Canadian Film Institute featuring Ottawa premieres of films found on the screens of such festivals as Cannes, Berlin, and TIFF. The Festival includes 30+ film screenings, filmmaker talks, and industry events Screen Summit and Save As. The IFFO Festival and Media Assistant will report to the assist the Film Festival Manger and work will assist the Communications Manger with IFFO and assist in the coordination the European Union Short Film Festival (EUSFF).

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist the CFI Communications Manager with IFFO and EUSFF planning; scheduling social media content, basic graphic design, basic website maintenance, copywriting;
- Assist the CFI Communications Manager during IFFO; capturing photo and video content;
- Help plan the EUSFF; scheduling, box office management, volunteer management, website maintenance,
- Assist the Film Operations department with EUSFF film traffic; communicate with the EU Delegation; gather and organize film information;
- Supervise volunteers and provide customer service at the three EUSFF screenings

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- Excellent communication and people skills (verbal and written); good organizational skills and initiative
- Attention to detail and accuracy; able to consistently meet deadlines
- French language fluency (verbal and written) is an asset
- Experience in event and project management is an asset
- Experience working in customer service is an asset
- Experience capturing and editing content for social media is an asset
- Strong computer skills: ability to quickly learn new programs/platforms and take initiative to troubleshoot

**Additional Qualifications Required**:
Eligible to participate in Ontario’s Job Creation Partnership (JCP) program by meeting the following criteria:
1. An unemployed job seeker or those employed less than 20 hours per week (part-time students and graduates may apply)

2. Live in Ontario

3. Legally authorized to work in Canada

4. Have one, or both, of the following criteria:
a. Previously established an Employment Insurance (EI) benefit claim (regular benefits within the last three years or maternity/parental within the last five years), and/or

b. Previously employed in Canada in any five of the last ten calendar years while earned a gross income in excess of $2000 in each calendar year.

**Remuneration**:
$620 (gross) per week provided by the Province of Ontario; averaging $19.375 per hour based on 32 hours per week.
