Reporting to the Associate Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer, Human Resources (AVP, HR and CHRO), the Director, Talent Management and Employee Development (the "Director"), is the senior leader overseeing talent acquisition as well as employee and organizational development strategy at Sheridan. The incumbent helps advance strategic goals and Sheridan's reputation as a leading employer. The Director engages the business by deploying employee and organizational development programs and services in the portfolio, enhances capacity to attract, develop, engage and retain top talent; aligns and strengthens talent at all levels, enables compliance with regulatory and contract terms, and facilitates transformation to deliver on Sheridan's vision and strategic goals.

The Director provides leadership, oversight and guidance to the Centre for People and Organizational Development (CPOD) and Talent Acquisition (TA) teams and has senior accountability for the following functions: organizational assessment, design and development, employee development and career planning, change leadership, succession planning, competency management, leadership effectiveness, management skills development, performance management, employee engagement, legislative learning initiatives and talent management strategy.

The Director defines and monitors service level expectations and engages the Sheridan community in deploying priorities, policies, practices and operational systems in the portfolio. The incumbent ensures processes are in place to maintain compliance and leads process improvement initiatives to deliver organizational and employee development services to clients.

**What You’ll Be Doing**
- Providing senior leadership, strategic direction and expert advice on the Talent Management and Employee Development activities at Sheridan;
- Supporting leaders across the organization regarding talent acquisition, employee and organizational development and strategic initiatives;
- Leading HR projects and goals aligned with, and in support of, long-term organizational strategy. Fosters senior leadership and collaborative stakeholder engagement in projects.
- Providing strategic direction, long-range planning and operational leadership for the talent management and employee development portfolios, CPOD and TA;
- Planning, organizing and directing portfolio services, activities, and systems to assist the college with achieving organizational effectiveness and strategic initiatives;
- Building, leading and empowering a management team to deliver high level service to all client groups;
- Working collaboratively as a key member of the HR Senior Leadership Team to create and execute an effective overall service delivery model for the Human Resources function;
- Identifying optimal strategy for meeting business needs and developing business and project plans to address priorities;
- Working with business and academic units to develop and implement the strategic goals.
- Performing other duties as assigned.

You enjoy balancing many different tasks, staying **organized** and **planning** and have the ability to integrate multiple streams of information, **prioritize** and track multiple projects to meet a demanding workload and keep things running smoothly.
- 4-year Bachelor’s degree in Adult education, Organizational Development, Human Resources, Organizational Psychology or a related field (equivalencies to be considered)
- Certified HR Professional or Leader designation (CHRP or CHRL)
- Certified Organizational Development Specialist (CODP), Certified Training and Development Professional (CTDP) and credentials in Adult Education or Organizational Development are desired
- 9-years progressive HR experience, including 4 years of experience in a leadership capacity with HR projects or functions
- Experience managing multiple projects or initiatives, concurrently - including mid-large scale with multiple stakeholders
