**Position Overview**:
The Human Resources Advisor will be responsible for responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating employee wellness policies and programs. This position will be responsible for leading the employee disability and leave of absence programs and will be accountable for the following duties:
- Oversee and administer the Group Benefits and Retirement Savings plan programs for all levels of employees;
- Oversee employee disability and leave programs and liaise with external service providers to ensure claims processing and return to work planning are taking place efficiently;
- Implement and oversee wellness related activities across the organization;
- Lead Group Benefits initiatives and improvements, including completing request for proposals for new benefits carriers;
- Provide organizational and employee-specific information as required to assist with both claims processing and return-to-work planning, including any claim objections/appeals;
- Work in collaboration with HR team and people leaders to ensure compliance with legislated requirements, collective agreement provisions, Flair policies and values;
- Develop, implement and enhance a robust and cost-effective return to work program;
- Liaise with HR team in cases where there is overlap between performance and/or operational factors and a leave;
- Track and analyze trends, provide data to inform reporting, and identify areas of concern or opportunity along with suggestions.
- Participate in health, safety and wellness-related projects as assigned
- Provide training and information to all levels of employees on Group Benefits, Retirement Savings information, and other wellness-related projects.
- Administer billing and reporting to Payroll in a timely manner.
- Responding to general employee inquiries as required.
- Performing other duties as assigned by the company from time to time.
**Qualifications & Requirements**:
- **
Education**:
- A Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management, or a combination of work experience, will be considered.
- CPHR Certification is an asset.
- **
Experience**:
- At least 3 years of experience in a Human Resources role, preferably in a fast-paced work environment. Previous airline experience is considered a plus.
- At least 2 years of experience overseeing employee disability and/or workers compensation claims management.
- Strong knowledge of human resources practices and employment legislation (Canada Labour Code).
- Exceptional computer skills, including proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and HRIS systems like Smartsheet, are required.
- Experience working with a unionized workforce and dealing with unions is preferred.
