Labour Relations and Compliance Advisor Role
The Labour Relations and Compliance Advisor will support the organization's labour relations and compliance functions as part of the AutoCanada People & Culture team. This position is responsible for administering caseloads, generating reports, conducting workplace investigations, ensuring compliance with labour laws and regulations, and supporting the development and implementation of labour relations strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Case Management and Reporting: Oversee and meticulously document all labour relations and compliance cases using the company's case management software. Ensure timely and accurate updates of case statuses and help prepare detailed reports on case outcomes and trends.
- Investigations: Assist in conducting detailed, impartial investigations into employee complaints, fraudulent activity, harassment, and code of conduct violations. Support the gathering and analysis of evidence, interview relevant parties, and help compile thorough investigation reports.
- Labour Relations: Assist in the formulation and implementation of labour relations strategies and policies. Support collective bargaining processes, including preparation for negotiations and drafting of collective agreements.
- Compliance: Help ensure compliance with Federal and provincial/territorial laws and regulations. Conduct regular audits and reviews of labour practices and policies to identify and mitigate compliance risks.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Labour Relations, Law, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in Human Resources, workplace investigations, labour relations, compliance, or a related field.
- In-depth knowledge of labour laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent investigative and analytical skills, with keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in case management software and ability to generate comprehensive reports.
