**About this role**

We are recruiting for a **HR & Safety Coordinator** to join our Burnaby office. Here's how your role will strengthen our team.

**Your responsibilities**

**HR**
- Complete union and non-union new hire setup and related payroll support
- Conduct new hire orientation and office/desk set ups for non-union employees
- Maintain employee records in the HRIS, ensuring that all data is up-to-date and accurate
- Update organization charts
- Assist with benefits administration and processing of security clearances as needed
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding company policies, benefits, and other HR related matters

**Safety**
- Maintain and update the safety portal, safety documents, and training database
- Maintain proper documentation to conform with record-keeping requirements of Houle, WorkSafe BC, as well as the client
- Complete necessary WorkSafe BC paperwork related to worker injuries
- Coordinate pre-access and post-accident drug and alcohol tests
- Manage the Joint Occupational Health and Safety committee, organize monthly meetings and keep the OH&S documentation up to date and communicated
- Assist with new hire safety orientations as needed

**Your experience and skills**
- 2-4 years of experience in an administrative or coordinator position, preferably in HR
- Post secondary education in Human Resources, considered an asset
- Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, etc.)
- Experience using ERP and HRIS systems an asset
- Superior time management and organizational skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Exceptional customer service skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
