Overview:
This role reports directly to the Director of Technical Services and Continuous Improvement with remote support from the overall department and the position is based in our Richmond, BC facility.

As a member of the Corporate Technical Services Team, this individual will be responsible for executing all technical services initiatives within our Richmond facility and further support, as required, for our Tukwila, Washington U.S. facility.

This role will require a focus on data collection and technical manufacturing support, as well as having a strong continuous improvement focus and ability to support our R&D Innovation Team with new product development when required.

Pay Range - $64,000-$80,000

The role will be responsible for executing initiatives as directed to help improve plant performance, reduce cost and ensure an efficient launch of new product innovation.

**Continuous Improvement**
- Working with the Director and Corporate Continuous Improvement Lead(s) the role will work cross functionally with the on-site Operations Team to strategize and implement continuous improvement projects.
- Full implementation and control monitoring of any projects would be solely executed and reported by this role.

**R&D Innovation Support**
- When required, the role will support our Corporate R&D Innovation Team in executing plant trials and testing on new product development as well as providing reports on data and trial findings.
- The role may also be required to work cross functionally on innovation project teams in order to provide technical insight to the capabilities of the facility.

Recipe for Success:

- 0-2 years of experience in R&D, quality Assurance or production in food manufacturing
- Bakery and/or confection Research and Development would be considered an asset along with championing raw material continuous improvement efforts and cost savings
- Ability to multi-task numerous projects and manage changing priorities
- Independent worker, able to work autonomously but comfortable working in a collaborative, team environment
- Solid understanding of food safety and manufacturing practices
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication, and presentation skills
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Creative problem solver
- Meets milestones on-time and on-budget
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel) along with using Genesis nutritional software; SAP experience a plus
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.
- Passion for food, efficient manufacturing practices, and product development
- This position will require periodic and project dependent travel (up to 25%) to other Dare manufacturing or co-manufacturing sites within Canada and the USA
