**SCOPE**
Reporting to the Manager, Graduate Professional Development, the incumbent provides guidance for the career development of graduate students. This position will develop and scale strategic opportunities and programs to empower graduate students and postdoctoral fellows to enhance their career and professional development and identify and pursue career paths, with the goal of finding career success upon graduation.

**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Lead efforts to create graduate career development resources, scale and integrate graduate career development into the fabric of the graduate student and postdoctoral fellow experience. Actively collaborate with the University partners on broader career education programming, initiatives, and training.
- Leverage data to inform and assess graduate and postdoctoral career education activities, resulting in increased engagement and impact with underserved academic units and student populations. Responsible for collecting, synthesizing, and reporting on graduate student career data. This includes, but is not limited to, graduate students learning outcomes, engagement, satisfaction, and career outcomes.
- Create and manage career development programs specifically tailored to the needs of graduate students and postdoctoral fellows. These programs may include workshops, seminars, panel discussions, web content, networking events, and job fairs, aiming to enhance their employability and connect them with relevant industry opportunities.
- Collaborate with key campus partners in developing a business strategy to attract employers interested in hiring graduate students. Including research-oriented positions, positions outside academia, and unique ways to serve our graduate population.
- Develop and build strong partnerships and collaborative working relationships with the campus partners. Serve as the primary liaison of career development with units that serve graduate students.
- Participate in learning opportunities, new developments, and trends in the field of career development and experiential learning, vocational guidance and labour market, the current employment situation for students and trends in the job market, both in Canada and abroad.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Associate Dean or Manager.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Master’s degree in a related field, and two to four years of experience in career development, counseling and advising graduate students and postdoctoral fellows.
- Familiarity with the job market and industry trends related to graduate-level employment.
- Proven ability to conduct, design, and evaluate a wide array of innovative programs and services for graduate student population.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely.
- Very good knowledge (Level 5) of spoken and written English and French.
- Strong research and analytical skills, including experience with data analysis tools and techniques.
- Good knowledge (Intermediate level) of Excel and advanced knowledge of PowerPoint and Word. Knowledge of Planner, MS Teams, SharePoint, and Bookings.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to work in a team environment using a collaborative approach.
- Excellent organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to multitask in order to bring objectives and goals to a successful completion within stipulated deadlines.
- Critical thinker with the ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
- Knowledge of trends and best practices in graduate education is an asset.
- Experience in a research-based graduate program is an asset.
- Demonstrated knowledge of university program structures and degree requirements within the Quebec, Canadian and international context is an asset.
