Reporting to the CDNBCA Executive Director, the **Funding & Event Development Coordinator** aims to develop and implement strategies to increase and maintain the funding income of CDNBCA through a range of fundraising initiatives and events, through acquisition and retention of donors, volunteers and community sponsors. The **Funding & Event Development Coordinator** will also be responsible for organizing the CDNBCA’s 50thAnniversary Gala to be held in the Fall of 2023.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Oversee the planning, organization, and coordination of CDNBCA’s 50th Anniversary Gala;
- Work closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure seamless event delivery;
- Participate in sales and event management activities to support the team in periods of high occupancy;
- Develop and enhance strong client relationships to encourage repeat business and referrals;
- Evaluate the success of each event and provide feedback to the team to improve future events;
- Manage event budgets, negotiate contracts with vendors, and ensure that events are delivered within budget;
- Monitor performance and activities of the team to ensure revenue and guest satisfaction targets are met in a project management environment;
- Elaborate, enforce, and continuously analyze new standard procedures and policies, with the goal of improving workflow and streamlining processes;
- Stay current with industry trends, innovations, best practices and know the competitive landscape;

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Bilingual with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in event planning, with a proven track record in managing corporate and social events across multiple properties;
- Education in hospitality, event planning, or other related field preferred but required;
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills;
- A performance-driven mindset;
- Strong financial management skills, with experience managing event budgets and negotiating contracts;
- Ability to work under pressure, in a fast-paced environment;
- Adaptable and at ease with managing priorities;
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage timelines and deadlines effectively;
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders;
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively to find solutions;
- Computer and systems savvy (Microsoft Office Suite, Amilia, event management software)
- Flexibility to work outside of regular business hours, including evenings and weekends.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 6 months

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
