**About this role**:
Reporting to the Manager, Occupational Health & Safety, the Disability Case Management Advisor works closely with LDB stakeholders to administer all aspects of disability claims. This includes gathering the necessary documentation to support absences, return to work and accommodations. The advisor is responsible for the co-ordination of a variety of services flowing from the Short Term Illness and Injury Plan (STIIP), long term disability and WorkSafeBC programs that are available to LDB employees.

Special requirements and working conditions include the ability to travel occasionally, and possibly overnight, within the Province of British Columbia. A successful completion of a criminal record check is required.

**Position requirements**:
**Education and Experience**:

- Degree, diploma or certificate in disability management or related field.
- A minimum of 2 years of recent, related progressive, experience* in disability management, or claims management.

OR

An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered equivalent to the above requirements i.e., 4 years of recent, related progressive experience* in disability management, or claims management may be considered in lieu of the educational requirement.
- Recent, related work experience must have occurred within the last 6 years and must include the following:

- Managing complex cases utilizing the principles of disability management.
- Return to work planning.
- Experience with attendance management programs.

Preferred qualifications include:

- Experience working within a unionized environment.
- Experience interpreting collective agreements.
- Experience and knowledge in managing accommodations.
