**Job Summary**
- Dalhousie Faculty of Graduate Studies (FGS) is the premier Maritime location for advanced study with over 3,500 graduate students in a research-intensive environment who can choose from over 95 Master’s degrees and more than 45 Doctoral programs. Students learn with top professors in their fields; experts who are recognized across Canada and the world. Reporting to the Dean, the Manager, Communications & Marketing is responsible for stewarding and enhancing the reputation of Graduate Studies at Dalhousie University and managing the communications activities of the Faculty of Graduate Studies with the goal of informing internal and external stakeholders and enhancing student and post-doctoral fellow (PDF) experience.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Originate and direct communications activities in support of improving student engagement and retention including, but not limited to admissions, orientation, professional development, and convocation.
- Direct the activities of high-profile university-wide campaigns such as the Killam Laureates, Three-Minute Thesis and Dal’s OpenThink program. Plan, lead and oversee development of campaign materials and lead the storytelling strategy for these campaigns.
- Collaborate and promote effective working relationships with partners (e.g., Office of Government and Global Relations, Office of the Vice President Research and Innovation and the Registrar’s Office) to support graduate recruitment in established and emerging markets.
- Manage the FGS Communications Team which includes the Communications Coordinator and Web Specialist, as well as student assistants.

**Note**
- The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on campus and remote work) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines.

**Required Qualifications**
- Undergraduate degree with five years’ progressive experience in a marketing, and/or communications context. (or an equivalent combination of training and experience).
- Proven ability to lead a communication and marketing team, with at least two years of direct supervision experience.
- Proven ability to successfully manage integrated digital marketing campaigns.
- Demonstrated ability to manage large and small projects (including budgets) autonomously, and the ability to provide clear direction to a broad range of staff and service providers.
- Exceptional marketing, communications, presentation, and strategic planning skills are essential.
- Must have confidence, professionalism, interpersonal effectiveness, and the proven ability to work co-operatively with internal and external stakeholders.
