**Job Summary**
- Serving Maritime Canada, the Faculty of Medicine enables excellence in health care through education and research programs in partnership with government, health authorities and health care providers. The Office of Community Partnerships and Global Health takes a collaborative approach to build leadership within the Dalhousie community to advance diversity, equity, community engagement, global health education and international partnerships. Reporting to the Director, Office of Community Partnerships and Global Health, the Manager, Community Engaged Learning develops, delivers, and evaluates medical education programming for community engagement and experiential learning. The position has three key functions including leadership for the community-engaged service learning program; development of a community engagement framework; and integrating health advocacy across undergraduate medical education.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Lead the creation of opportunities for medical students to participate in community-engaged service learning with organizations.
- Review and assess assignments including project proposals, midterm, and final critical reflection. Identify learning objectives for medical education related to advocacy and community engagement.
- Engage in appreciative advising of students and community partners with a focus on asset-based community engagement. Supervise medical students (about 70 per year) participating in service learning and community engagement activities across the curriculum
- Establish metrics and benchmarks to assess the impact of community engagement efforts. Collect and analyze data to measure the effectiveness of programs, initiatives, and partnerships.
- Design a community engagement framework aligned with the faculty’s mission, goals, and values.
- Negotiate legal partnership agreements between the faculty, the program, Office of Legal Counsel, and the community partner organizations to participate in Community-Engaged Service Learning.

**Note**
- The successful applicant will be eligible for hybrid work (combination of in-person work on campus and remote work) as agreed by all parties based on operational requirements and university guidelines.

**Required Qualifications**
- Undergraduate degree in a related field with a minimum of seven years’ work experience in a related field of Health Promotion, Public Health, service learning or community outreach and advocacy (or an equivalent combination of training and experience).
- Demonstrated experience in program design, evaluation, and community engagement.
- Existing relationships with community-based organizations with a demonstrated ability to leverage those relationships in a professional context.
- Evidence of student advising, including ability to support different types of needs (ranging from broad navigation of the community engagement experience to specific academic and cultural needs for meaningful and full participation).
- Experience working in a multifaceted institution that includes multiple players at varying levels.
