The Middlesex-London Health Unit has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Strategic Advisor - Risk & Records Management to work on the Risk and Records Management team in the Corporate Services division at our Citi Plaza location, London Ontario.
- Lead the continued development and implementation of the Health Unit’s Risk Management Program and embedding of risk management principles across organizational activities.
- Identify, assess, and analyze potential and actual organizational risk exposures and conduct evaluations to ensure risks are mitigated.
- Support the Board of Health and Senior Leadership Team through the identification, reporting, monitoring and/or resolution of prioritized organizational risks.
- Oversee the claims management process, and functions as a contact between the insurers and/or legal counsel.
- Lead the Organization’s records management activities relating to classification, retention, storage, and disposal ensuring best practice is followed.
- Oversee the contract renewal process, through the health unit’s policy management software, ensuring timely review and/or identification of the need for initiation of a competitive bidding process.
- Provide oversight and management of the Health Unit’s Policy Management software system.
- Coordinate the review and development of MLHU’s administrative policies and Policy Program review and development. Liaise with leadership and staff on policy issues, updates, and revisions.
- Develop program specific policies, procedures, standards and/or guidelines, which reflect legislative or regulatory requirements, professional standards and expectations as per agency policy.
- Oversee the work of direct reports and troubleshoots problems arising in daily work activities.
- Manage the recruitment, training, performance management, and performance evaluations of direct reports.
- Contribute to a positive work environment, work collaboratively with others, recognize the strengths and contributions of others, and establish positive and constructive working relationships.
- Contribute to organization by sharing knowledge and expertise, orienting and mentoring students and new staff, and providing operational coverage during colleagues’ absences.
- Engage in culturally humble ways with relevant parties with the goal of addressing social determinants of health and working together to reduce health inequity.
- Other duties as assigned.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Master’s degree in public or business administration, health or social services.
- Canadian Risk Management (CRM) Designation or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum five years of related experience is required, with preference given to experience in public health, health care or public service.
- Demonstrated experience in leading teams and working in a unionized environment is an asset.
- Proven experience dealing with highly sensitive and confidential issues while exercising discretion.
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills, experience working with interdisciplinary teams, and ability to exercise tact in relating to all levels of staff, external partners and the general public.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational abilities and time management skills.
- Able to manage multiple priorities with highly developed problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Communication proficiency (written and verbal) in French and/or any other languages is highly desirable.

The salary for this position ranges from $91,883.25-$108,098.17 based on qualifications and experience.
