Community Engagement Coordinator

**Purpose**:
The Community Engagement Coordinator role contributes to the success of the Centre for Career Design by supporting the alignment of shared services between Career Advising and Design and Corporate Relations through the coordination of student engagement initiatives, programs, and events. The role leads the implementation of communication strategies to support Divisional objectives, makes recommendations to enhance and elevate the CCD's visual profile in print and digital media, provides administrative support, and coordinates community engagement events.
**Education**:
University degree in Marketing or an equivalent of 4 years recent experience (defined as within the last five years) working at York University and performing the same or similar tasks. This education equivalency is in addition to the experiential requirements outlined below.
**Experience**:
Two (2) years related community engagement, event planning, communications and marketing experience is required.
**Skills**:
Effective oral and written communication, including the ability to obtain and provide information in a clear and concise manner both orally and in writing, and the ability to produce written information targeted to a variety of audiences.
Efficient attention to detail, including accurate proofreading and cross-referencing skills.
Ability to deal courteously, tactfully, and effectively with faculty, staff, and community members.
Ability to maintain a relational database.
Intermediate MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Ability to use event and project management software.
Ability to use online/web-based content management systems and social media sites such as Wordpress, Mailchimp, LinkedIn, Instagram.
Efficient organizational skills including the ability to set priorities, multi-task, and handle a variety of assignments.
Ability to effectively deal with competing demands and deadlines.
Ability to work independently and cooperatively as a member of a team.
