**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Organizes consultations with South Asian community members to develop culturally responsive programs and exhibits about South Asian art and culture at ROM.
- Conducts community outreach to South Asian community groups. Develops and manages partnerships with South Asian non-profit organizations and coordinates group visits to ROM, enhancing community ties.
- Utilizes insights from community partners and consultations to create and implement a diverse calendar of on-site and off-site programs targeted at South Asian community groups.
- Collaborates in developing and facilitating workshops focused on adult, youth, and multi-generational learning and creating resources for self-guided visits, especially for vulnerable learners.
- Assists in planning and delivering in-gallery activations related to South Asian collections and exhibits, working with the Gallery Engagement team.
- Provide expertise and advice for ROM's exhibition development, supporting other teams in creating content that reflects South Asian cultures and communities. This includes consulting on strategies to attract South Asian audiences and aiding in developing content for museum educators.
- Acts as a liaison to enhance ROM's engagement with South Asian audiences, advising on community engagement strategies, program development, and marketing initiatives to increase visitation and participation from South Asian communities.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- A bachelor's degree in humanities or social sciences, complemented by at least five years of experience in program coordination within informal learning settings.
- Critical thinking and a working knowledge of South Asian history, art, and culture are essential.
- Familiarity with ROM’s South Asian collections and engagement with contemporary South Asian arts and diasporas is advantageous.
- A deep understanding of and existing connections to the South Asian communities in the GTA.
- Fluency in at least one South Asian language is required, and South Asian ancestry is considered an advantage.
- Proven project management skills, including time management, problem-solving, and prioritization in consultation with supervisors.
- Exceptional interpersonal abilities, including diplomacy, emotional intelligence, strong communication, and conflict resolution skills.
- Demonstrated capacity for both independent and collaborative work to achieve objectives.
- Availability for non-standard work hours, including evenings and weekends.
