1.Position overview:
A significant part of a Business Development Manager’s role at Mecademic is to acquire new customers for the company, which involves prospecting, developing local relationships, and sales outreach.
2.Key responsibilities:
Identifying target customers and partners, and developing a strategy to engage with them and build relationships.
Research industries, identify target companies
Making initial contact with potential customers and partners, qualifying opportunities to determine whether they are a good fit for Mecademic's products, and reaching out to decision-makers.
Working closely with potential customers to understand their automation needs and requirements, and proposing approaches and solutions to meet those needs.
Conducting presentations and coordinating with the pre-sales support team product demos to educate potential customers and partners about Mecademic’s offerings.
Negotiating and closing deals with customers and partners.
Managing a sales pipeline in line with the yearly sales quota based on revenue generated and other performance metrics.
3.Skills and qualifications:
Education - Experience
Minimum of a college degree in business, engineering or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role in the automation industry
Knowledge
Sales planning, major account management.
B2B direct and indirect sales to large complex customers.
Understanding of automation, robotics or related technologies.
Daily use of CRM tools, building and managing a sales pipeline.
Demonstrated ability to achieve yearly sales quota on a regular basis.
Familiarity with one or more of the following manufacturing/industrial sectors: electronics, biotech, lab automation, component manufacturing, optics/photonics.

Proficient in acquiring new B2B customers.
Excellent commercial negotiation skills.
Building and maintaining a sales pipeline.
Building relationships and business networks.
Identifying customer needs, proposing solutions
Negotiating and closing deals to drive revenue growth
Excellent communication skills, both internally and externally
Familiarity with their clients' business models
Enforce company policies and protect the company's reputation
Strong team spirit and collaborative mindset
