Bookkeeper/administrative Assistant

**Job Summary**
**Responsibilities**
- Assistance with and preparation of client bookkeeping
- Processing payroll
- Preparation of personal income tax, T4, WCB and T5 returns
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks or Sage for financial record keeping.
- Perform bank reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial statements.
- Prepare compilation and review engagements
- Prepare financial statements
- Prepare and file personal and corporate tax returns
- Prepare and file GST returns
- Set up files for new clients in accounting software.
- Assist in budgeting processes by providing necessary data and analysis.
- Meet and discuss files with clients and team members
- Support other administrative tasks as needed to enhance office efficiency.
**Experience**
- Accounting diploma or degree from a recognized post-secondary institute
- Proven experience as an Administrative Assistant or in a similar role, preferably within an accounting environment.
- Previous related tax experience would be an asset
- Familiarity with accounting principles and practices is highly desirable.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Exce
- Proficiency in using accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage) for daily operations.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
