**Location of work**:Hybrid. This position has the opportunity to work within a flexible schedule and work environment ensuring the expectations of the position are being met.

**WageGrid**: $25.00 - 31.00/hour

**Benefits**:4% vacation provided in annual paid leave. This position is not eligible for an extended benefits package

**Reports to**: OperationsManager or designate

**Position Details**: Term contract. Position will start the week of September 4, 2023 and end June 30,
2024with the potential for opportunity to continue upon completion of contract.

**Job Description Summary**:
NEED2’s Education Coordinator is responsible for the delivery, coordination, evaluation and oversight ofMental Health, Suicide Education & Awareness, and Mindfulness workshops to students and community members within South Vancouver Island. The Education Coordinator will work with
Operations Manager to support and supervise Education Program Facilitators and volunteers. They will provide input and feedback to aid in the continued enhancement and development of workshop curriculum, programming, and the NEED2 Education Program as a whole.

**Main Duties and Responsibilities**
**Program Oversight and Delivery**
- Oversees the delivery of NEED2’s mental health, suicide education prevention, and mindfullness workshops for students and community members.
- Facilitates and observes workshops to youth and community members in Greater Victoria, in collaboration with NEED2 education staff and volunteers.
- Uses facilitation skills to establish rapport with workshop participants and create emotional safety to explore questions, attitudes and concerns about mental health and suicide.

**Program Development and Evaluation**
- Supports the development of NEED2’s educational programs in keeping with known suicide prevention best practices and NEED2’s strategic plan.
- Ensures curriculum and other program materials are up-to-date and in alignment with relevant professional standards through regular research and evaluation done in collaboration with

NEED2’s clinical oversight.
- Collects, researches, organizes, and summarizes program-related data and statistics, including monthly reports.

**Community Liaison and Program Promotion**:

- Develops and maintains relationships with counselors and administrators throughout the school districts.
- Schedules and coordinates community and school-based workshops.
- Promotes NEED2’s education programs and as an organization at community events and on social media

**Human Resources**:

- Develops and delivers training to volunteers about school-based workshop facilitation strategies and suicide prevention practices; supports ongoing volunteer learning and professional development.
- Supports in Hiring, training, and supervision of Education Facilitators and volunteers
- Working with the Operations Manager and Executive Director, maintains up-to-date policies, procedures and documentation regarding program staff and volunteers in accordance with

NEED2’s Human Resources Policy Manual.

**Organizational Support**:

- Acts as part of the NEED2 leadership structure.
- Completes monthly program reports for the Board of Directors to be included in the monthly

Executive Director’s Report.
- Provides advice and assistance to the Executive Director in maintaining NEED2 policies and procedures applicable to, human resources, or operations/administration.
- Completes professional development to support all aspects of their job description.

**Qualifications**:
**Required**:

- A commitment to the NEED2mission, vision, and values, including a demonstrated commitment to deepening lifelong learning on topics aroundmental health, suicide prevention, and social justice
- ABachelor’s degree in a relevant field (such as Child and Youth Care, SocialWork, Education,
Mental Health), or an equivalent combination of education, experience and training
- Strong facilitation skills and experience facilitating groups of varying demographics and ages, includingmiddle and high school students, while navigating sensitive and challenging topics
- Confidence and comfort delivering information regardingmental health, suicide, and stigma
- Understanding of mindfulness practices and experiences facilitatingmindfulness
- Ability tomaintain empathic and respectful working relationships with community partners
- Ability to set andmaintain clear boundaries
