Volunteer Coordinator

Cambridge, Canada Cambridge Food Bank Full time

This role is covering a sick leave. The contract will be 6 months in length with the potential extension if needed. The regular work day is Monday-Friday 9-5 but flexible hours for occasional evenings and weekends are required, especially during the holiday season.

**Responsibilities**:

- Coordinate volunteer activities and assignments
- Conduct public speaking engagements to promote volunteer opportunities
- Educate volunteers on the organization's mission, values, and goals
- Supervise and train volunteers to ensure they are equipped to perform their duties effectively
- Provide leadership and guidance to volunteers, fostering a positive and inclusive environment
- Collect data on volunteer activities and outcomes for reporting purposes

**Skills**:

- Strong market knowledge of volunteer recruitment and management best practices
- Excellent administrative skills, including record keeping and documentation
- Proven ability to recruit and onboard volunteers from diverse backgrounds
- Effective public speaking skills to engage and inspire potential volunteers
- Ability to educate volunteers on organizational policies, procedures, and expectations
- Experience in supervising and motivating volunteers in a team setting
- Strong leadership skills to guide and support volunteers in their roles

**Salary**: $20.00-$24.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

**Education**:

- Secondary School (preferred)
