Cambridge Shelter Corporation is seeking an experienced Resource Development Coordinator to lead our events and fundraising team.

**Work closely with the Finance Coordinator and Board of Directors Fundraising Committee to generate much needed revenue and increase positive exposure in the community.**

The position is allows for autonomy and the ability to be creative with a changing organizational landscape. The employee will work in a steady paced environment with an emphasis on work-life balance. The employee will have access to great benefits, EAP, a set schedule, and vacation time

**Position Description**

This position will be responsible for all facets of Fundraising and Event Planning. CSC is a person-centred agency dedicated to assisting individuals in moving forward with their lives.

**Principal Responsibilities**

**Funds Development**
- Establishes short
- and long-range goals for unrestricted funding sources and enlists support in implementation from members, Board Directors, volunteers and staff.
- Works with Board, staff and volunteers to develop funding related projects.
- Organizes individual donor campaigns (e.g., major donors, direct mail and Board).
- Organizes solicitation drives for pledges of ongoing support from individuals, corporations, and foundations.
- Strategizes and orchestrates methods of approach to institutional donors, researching public and private grant sources (agencies, corporations and foundations) to identify sources of restricted and unrestricted funding.

**Major Gift/Donor Support**
- Produces major donor, Board and special category solicitations/support materials with the intent to retain or upgrade gifts when possible.
- Designs, implements and manages Stewardship Program.
- Applies “Moves Management” practices in managing database of supporters.
- Cultivates donors by producing specialized correspondences, preparing letters of acknowledgment, scheduling and attending in-person visits.

**Planned Giving Program**
- Designs, implements and manages a comprehensive Planned Giving Program
- Informs and educates the legal, accounting and wealth management communities to recognize the CSCS as a possible recipient of planned gifts
- Tracks progress of pending Legacy and Bequest gifts.

**Development & Community Relations**
- Represents the CSC in a professional manner
- Supervises most development and community relations matters, particularly the creation of various communications such as the annual report and social media content
- Plans, directs and/or coordinates all CSC and third-party Development activities, including all major fundraising activities
- Makes recommendations to increase and enhance CSC’s positioning in the public and identify any issues that may impact the image or reputation of the organization as a charity.
- Maximizes the impact of social media ensuring website and print material content is current and all material follows CSC print and publication guidelines.

**Database and Records Management, Financial Reporting**
- Supervises and coordinates the maintenance of digital and paper records of prospects, donors, partners, foundations and grant contributors.
- Maintains security and quality controls.
- Generate queries, reports, exports and any other collection data as needed.
- Maintains accurate accounting of all unrestricted income and its sources.
- Interfaces with team and Finance to fulfill information requests and maintain reporting accuracy.

**Qualifications**

3+ years experience

Experience working in a non-profit setting is an asset

Vulnerable Sector Police check required
