**RECEPTIONIST (Designated bilingual position)**

**Permanent Full-time Position - 37.5 hours weekly - 7.5-hour per day - Monday to Friday**

The Receptionist will act as the primary point of contact for all in-person and telephone traffic at the hospice. The main role is to create a warm and welcoming experience for anyone entering the hospice - this includes new Residents, Clients, Family Members, Donors and all other Visitors. This individual will sit at the front reception desk in a highly visible location throughout their shift to ensure the highest degree of accessibility to the people we serve.

**MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY**

**Reception duties**: open entrances and prepare the hospice for daily traffic; greet, screen, and log all incoming in-person traffic; answer telephone traffic and direct calls to appropriate staff; greet new Resident arrivals, contact appropriate nursing station and screen in family members.

**Administrative duties**: accept, process & record donations; take reservations for common area dining rooms or sun-room; update the Resident list daily; data entry of residents and next of kin contact information into SUMAC database on a monthly basis, record of end-of-life family surveys in Excel spreadsheet; produce and process mail outs; enter donations in SUMAC donor base; complete other data processing and administrative tasks as assigned that support all functional programs of the Hospice.

**Health & Safety duties**: maintain a tidy front reception area at all times; disinfect front reception desk, main entrance door handles and other high touch surface areas throughout the day; ensure full stock of Kleenex, procedural masks, hand sanitizer is available at all times.

**Necessary**:

- Proficiency in spoken and written bilingual communication - French/English
- Minimum education level of Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience working in customer service/client support role
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in an administrative support role
- Clear criminal record check

**Preferred**:

- Prior related experience in a health care setting is an asset
- Post-secondary Diploma or Certification in a related field (i.e., hospitality, customer service, administration)

- Ability to maintain a positive attitude and manage through high volumes of face-to-face and telephone interaction with visitors and callers

- Sensitivity to the environment, residents, and family members we serve
- Flexible, adaptable, and able take initiative

**SALARY**: starting at $23.00 per hour
