**FULL-TIME REGULAR POSITION
**Position: Program Manager, Work-Integrated Learning**

**Division: Office of Applied Research & Graduate Studies**

**Reporting To: Director, Centre for Teaching, Learning & Innovation**

**Justice Institute of British Columbia**:
The Justice Institute of British Columbia (JIBC) is a public, post-secondary institution that provides education and training
to those who’ll be there to support British Columbians and others around the world, when a life is at stake or when
health, safety or property is in jeopardy. Work for JIBC and be a part of the big picture - supporting justice and public
safety professionals at all stages of their careers in fields including law enforcement, firefighting, paramedicine, security
and emergency management.

As a JIBC employee you’ll play a role in our educational programming, which also includes complementary and related
areas of study - from conflict resolution, mediation, leadership and counselling, to cybersecurity, business intelligence,
and tactical criminal analysis - as well as applied research in the justice and public safety fields. Join our team and help
us prepare JIBC graduates to contribute to safer communities and a more just society.

The Office of Applied Research & Graduate Studies at the JIBC plays a pivotal role in fostering innovation and academic
excellence within the field of justice and public safety. As a dynamic hub of scholarly activity, the office is dedicated to
advancing knowledge, practical solutions, and evidence-based practices that contribute to the enhancement of public
safety, emergency management, and justice systems. Through a collaborative approach, the office facilitates research
initiatives, provides support for graduate studies, and engages with diverse stakeholders, including practitioners,
communities, and policymakers. By bridging the gap between academia and real-world challenges, the Office of Applied
Research & Graduate Studies at JIBC demonstrates a commitment to producing meaningful outcomes that positively
impact the safety and well-being of societies at large.

**Position Summary**:
Join the dynamic community at the JIBC and our Work Integrated Learning (WIL) program. We're dedicated to
integrating WIL seamlessly into our institution, and we're searching for a committed WIL Program Manager to lead these
efforts. In this engaging position, you'll collaborate closely with the Center for Teaching, Learning, and Innovation (CTLI),
JIBC Student Services, and various Program Areas to thoughtfully assess needs, create innovative WIL curriculum and
resources, and build strong connections with community partners. Your work will empower students with practical
experience and cultivate lasting relationships that enhance our academic environment. Embracing our values of equity,
diversity, and inclusion, you'll ensure these principles are fundamental to our WIL programs. If you're enthusiastic about
shaping the future of education and building meaningful partnerships, this is the opportunity you've been looking for.

including agreement templates. The position also involves coordinating the development and maintenance
of a preparatory course for WIL students, understanding evolving trends in the WIL landscape, and making
recommendations for program improvements. Ensuring compliance with legislative and WorkSafe
requirements is a priority, along with developing systems for prompt responses to WIL inquiries. The role
also focuses on promoting WIL throughout the institution, collecting, and analyzing program-related data,
ensuring policy adherence, preparing progress reports, monitoring program effectiveness, and determining
appropriate fee structures.

**WIL Opportunity Leadership**
- The role involves collaborating with academic groups and colleagues to enhance the quality of WIL activities,

offering guidance on benefits, models, best practices, and industry benchmarks. This includes assessing
current and potential WIL opportunities at JIBC and providing expert advice on WIL practices to various
program areas. Building and maintaining strong relationships with industry and community partners to align
with institutional goals is a key aspect. The role also encompasses managing relationships and agreements
with employers, community partners, and internal stakeholders, supporting the regional promotion of WIL
initiatives, ensuring the successful execution of WIL assignments, and using lessons learned to enhance
