**What you will be doing**
- Responsible for the development, maintenance, and overall management of the Preventative Control Plan (PCP) and Food Safety Management System (FSMS), ensuring all related documents are completed, comprehensive, up-to-date, and accurate.
- Develop and update written procedures and policies to meet regulatory, customer and certification bodies requirements.
- Initiates and performs reassessment of the PCP, HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) and Pre-Requisite Programs annually as per schedule, and when there are changes to programs, processes, procedures, raw materials, equipment, or technology, to ensure that all regulatory, company, and/or customer requirements are effectively implemented such as:

- Supports new product launches by ensuring new hazards are not introduced to the plant and the HACCP plan is updated in a timely manner & ensure timely closure or update of programs related to reassessment findings.
- Point of contact for communication between the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Maple Lodge Farms - Brampton, and collaborate, foster, and maintain a positive relationship with the Inspection Lead, ensuring all requests related to Standard inspection Process (SIP) tasks are addressed, including non-compliances (NC).
- Lead and participate in external third-party audits, second-party audits, internal and regulatory audits.
- Ensure timely closure of necessary corrective action items associated with any audits.
- Attend, participate and/or lead meetings related to operations, continuous improvement, food safety and quality, and management review meetings.
- Completion and submission of reports in a timely manner such as daily departmental scorecard, monthly pathogen report and regulatory data for Management Review Meetings.
- Reviews and monitors changing regulatory policy and reports to Senior QA staff so that necessary changes can be made in a timely manner.
- Lead and support continuous improvements of the Preventative Control Plan (PCP) and Food Safety Management System (FSMS).
- Lead, coach and support stakeholders to ensure compliance with written programs.
- Lead, conduct and/or support validation/revalidation and risk assessments related to prerequisite programs and critical control points (CCPs).

**What you will bring**
- Undergraduate degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience working in HACCP/GFSI role(s) in the food industry, preferably in meat and in a unionized environment.
- Team player with the ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders (including CFIA Inspectors) and develop positive working relationships with all employees.
- Working knowledge of quality assurance principles, food and meat plant regulatory standards (CFIA, USDA, FDA etc.), GMP, HACCP, BRC, food safety, food quality, etc.
- Dynamic, proactive and results oriented employee, with a strong ability to multi-task and work under pressure in a fast-paced demanding environment.
- Excellent organizational skills, initiative, attention to detail and accuracy of information.
- Strong computer skills (e.g., MS Office).
- Must be able to work with mínimal supervision.
