The Public Health Response Team at FNHA is moving into their 9th year of the Toxic Drug Public Health Emergency, and the Program Coordinator, Toxic Drug Response position will be pivotal in supporting First Nations communities to respond to this crisis and contributing to FNHA’s Level 2 Response to the Toxic Drug Public Health Emergency.
**Title**: Program Coordinator, Toxic Drug Response
**Salary**: $57,888 - $72,360 - $79,596 per year (pay range explained below)
**Contract**: Term to May 1, 2026
**Hours**: 8am-4pm / 8:30am-4:30pm / 9am-5pm (core hours 9am-3pm Mon-Fri)
**Location**: West Vancouver, BC on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded Coast Salish Territories of the Squamish, Musqueam & Tsleil-Waututh Nations. (Hybrid working is an option in line with FNHA’s flex work policy). Please note, this role will be relocating to our new office building in North Vancouver on Tsleil-Waututh Nation (TWN) land, south of Mount Seymour Parkway, in the summer of 2025.
**About the role**
As the Program Coordinator, Toxic Drug Response, you will be responsible for the administration and coordination of Toxic Drug Response (TDR) initiatives for the provincial office by supporting the implementation of the FNHA’s Framework for Action, Harm Reduction policy, and the TDR team’s work plan. This role is responsible for maintaining information, including maintaining and managing files, coordinating the TDR team’s participation at events, supporting knowledge translation sessions, and supporting team, cross-organization, and partnership meetings. This position will also assist with the implementation of the TDR Team’s related programs and services, such as Not Just Naloxone Training, Harm Reduction Hub, Communications Campaigns, engaging peers/People With Lived and Living Experience (PWLLE), and other related duties.
**About you**
To be successful in this role you will have:
- A minimum of a diploma (Bachelor’s degree preferred), with demonstrated coursework in First Nations studies, plus 5 years of significant, recent, and relevant lived experience, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated course work on First Nations people, cultural safety and humility, and mental health and wellness).
- Experience in health systems/programs/services, and in particular working with First Nations individuals, communities, or organizations on issues related to health and wellness.
- Experience coordinating and delivering mental health and wellness and/or harm reduction promotion within the community.
- Experience in project planning, coordination, and supporting the implementation of strategies for mental health and wellness, substance use, and harm reduction.
- In-depth knowledge of First Nation’s perspective on wellness, including traditional wellness, cultural protocols, and traditional practices.

The Pay Range is the minimum and maximum annual salary based on full time equivalent hours. Incumbents are typically hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the range based on their knowledge, skills, abilities and experience in relation to the role requirements. The top 10% of the pay range is for the incumbents who are industry experts in the job with the combination of exceptional experience and competencies needed to perform all duties and responsibilities at a superior capability level.
