**Coordinator, People and Culture Post**

**PURPOSE OF THE JOB**:
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Coordinator, People and Culture is tasked with supporting the recruitment, retention and training of volunteers and board of directors. The recruitment, retention and training provided through planning and development by the Coordinator, People and Culture, will advance the work of
BBNC and provide skilled leadership staff and volunteers to the community through adapting to the "new normal".

**PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES**:
**Volunteer Recruitment/Retention**
1. Recruits, trains and supports the supervision of organizational volunteers in all service areas.
2. Reviews and maintains appropriate volunteer policies and practices.
3. Ensures that all necessary documentation is attained for files including but not limited to Police Reference

Checks (including Vulnerable Person’s Check); accreditation documentation, etc.
4. Ensures sufficient skilled and trained volunteer support for direct and indirect service activity.
5. Provides orientation sessions to potential organizational volunteers.
6. Ensures ongoing tracking and evaluation of service delivery volunteers.

**Board/ Staff**
1. Works with the Executive Director to establish priorities to enhance unity, training, skill development and revitalization for the organization.
2. Facilitates the development of an annual training plan for staff and volunteers to ensure achievement of the organization’s short and long term objectives
3. Researches and facilitates professional development opportunities for staff, volunteers and board members.

**Fundraising**
1. In collaboration with the Executive Director, supports fundraising targets through the recruitment, orientation, training and retention of volunteers committed to raising funds for the organization.
2. Seeks innovations to broaden and enhance fundraising activities, as necessary.
3. Ensures fundraising activities are carried out in an ethical manner by all volunteers.

**Member Engagement**
- Provides assistance/support for all community members or partners
- Development of an EDI Team comprised of staff, volunteers, Board Members and Community residents

**OTHER DIMENSIONS**:

- Works in a collegial manner to foster high staff morale and a cohesive effective team who are supportive of each other
- Builds internal and external relations with a wide variety of stakeholders, initiating beneficial partnerships and/or strategic alliances, as required

**JOB SPECIFICATIONS**:
Relevant post graduate education in Volunteer Management, Social Work, Psychology, or Human

Resources

Ideally, 4 years of progressive experience in a volunteer coordination role, preferably in a not for profit setting or comparable business

Ability to influence and inspire teams, drive strategic growth and foster a spirit of continuous improvement
Excellent writing and presentation skills
Adaptable, flexible and resourceful
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, database systems
