The Department of Surgery is currently looking for a **Full-Time, Temporary **(9-months) Program Coordinator. Please see below for the details.

Reporting to the Manager of Research, Communications and Special Projects, the Program Coordinator will be responsible for the implementation of various projects and initiatives in EDI (equity, diversity, and inclusion), health and wellness, and mentoring and coaching in a healthcare setting. The incumbent will also be responsible for supporting departmental communication initiatives such as the newsletter and annual report, maintaining digital communication platforms and plan internal and external events.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Support planning, coordination, and tracking of programs, related projects, and supporting activities
- Ensure implementation of departmental policies and practices
- Maintain budget and track transactions
- Support program and departmental communications by working closely with the Communications Manager
- Help build positive relations within the team and external parties
- Schedule and organize meetings/events and maintain agenda
- Optimize use of technologies for effective project management
- Keep updated records and create presentations, reports, and proposals
- Support growth and program development
- Organizes major events in the department by coordinating the planning and logistics

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Post-secondary education in a relevant field
- Experience as Program Coordinator or similar relevant position
- Experience coordinating logistics for small to large events, from creation to execution
- Knowledge of program management and development procedures
- Knowledge of budgeting and reporting
- Tech savvy, proficient in MS Office
- Ability to work with diverse and multi-disciplinary teams
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail, ability to self-organize, prioritize and work simultaneously on multiple projects and consistently meet deadlines
- Administrative and clerical skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Demonstrates initiative, tact and diplomacy
- Ability to work independently and autonomously as well as in a team environment
- Experience in the areas of research management, academics, healthcare, wellness, mentorship, and/or EDI an asset
- Experience with SharePoint and PowerAutomate an asset
- Bilingual (English / French) an asset
