Reporting to the Associate Deputy Minister, Health System Operations, the Legislation Branch manages the Ministry of Health’s legislative program from legislative proposals through enactment of bills, leads the preparation and drafting of regulations, Orders in Council and Ministerial orders, and drafting and seeking approvals of appointments and proclamations.

The successful applicant will provide leadership, direction and specialized advice in all phases of the development and administration of large, complex, and sensitive legislative and regulatory changes in response to initiatives and priorities of the Ministry and government. They will lead the development of legislative and regulatory projects through the required stages, including by preparing or overseeing the preparation of Requests for Legislation and drafting instructions, supporting briefing materials for Cabinet Committee review and for the Legislative Assembly, and preparing for and coordinating the implementation of legislation for the Ministry.

**Job Requirements**:
**Education and Experience**:

- University degree in business administration, public administration, law, or related field or equivalent and 3 years of related experience, OR an equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.

**Related experience must include**:

- Experience in planning, developing and/or implementing significant policy, regulatory, or legislative changes.
- Experience at a senior level organizing and managing projects of large scale and complexity and/or concurrent diverse projects that have multiple project delivery components, competing priorities and rigid deadlines, while following project management techniques.
- Experience influencing and collaborating productively with partners and stakeholders to initiate fundamental and substantive change to existing policies, programs or legislation and facilitate introduction and implementation of new programs or legislation.
- Experience leading organizational change associated with implementation of policy, regulatory or legislative changes.
- Experience building teams, supervising and developing staff, and motivating team members to achieve results in the development and implementation of complex projects.

**Preferences**:

- Preference may be given to applicants who have experience leading intensive consultation processes and persuasively communicating policy and legislation options and possible courses of action. Preference may be given to applicants who identify as Indigenous (First Nations, Métis or Inuit).**About this Position**:
