**Position Title**: Manager, Individual New Business
**Reports To**: Director, Individual Operations
**Department**: Individual
**Term**: Permanent Full-Time

**Work Arrangements**: This is a hybrid role. You will work in our office in Waterloo, ON a minimum of two (2) assigned, consecutive days every other week, plus a fifth (5th) assigned day per month. You are welcome to work from the office more than the minimum requirement and there may be some roles that are required to work in our office more than the minimum requirement.

**The Opportunity**: This role will be responsible for the end-to-end new business processes (excluding underwriting), including reinsurance administration on the initial placement of ceded policies. A strategic mindset coupled with the ability to analyze and use metrics to drive process improvement compliment your ability to lead teams to success.

**What you will be doing**:

- Oversee all aspects of Individual New Business including policy input, issue, settle, and administration
- Deliver top tier service on all transactions that are timely, accurate, client focused and compliant with applicable treaties, taxation rules, legislation and industry guidelines
- Strategic resource planning, hiring and training
- Strong ability to manage and continuously improve upon processes and workflows, with a focus on digitizing and automating tasks
- Manage escalated complaints and process exceptions
- Build and maintain relationships with advisors and MGA’s
- Participate and support special projects
- Set and manage annual budgets

**What you will bring**:

- Post secondary education combined with a proven track record of progressively responsible work experience
- Strong leadership experience including: delegation, interpersonal, motivational, coaching and mentoring skills.
- Superior communication skills, both verbal and written
- Superb organization and time management skills
- Excellent negotiation, influencing, change management, problem solving and decision making skills
- Strong risk management and exception analysis/decision making skills
- Ability to manage multiple departmental responsibilities, all with varying business requirements and skill set requirements, while meeting deadlines
- Strong ability to understand various technical concepts, especially relating to processing systems, with an ability to enhance operational processes through digitization and automation
- Excellent knowledge of business operations management
- Superior knowledge of workflows and process improvement
- Strategic thinker with the ability to take concepts from inception to execution
