The Communicative Disorders Assistant (CDA) provides client care and treatment under the guidance of Speech-Language Pathologists. The incumbent is responsible for speech and language service delivery, targeting care plan goals established by the Speech Language Pathologist.
- Provides speech-language therapy under the guidance of a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Collaborates with internal and external service providers to provide integrated service delivery to clients and families
- Maintains department’s materials
- Assists the Speech-Language Pathologist with documentation, preparation and monitoring
- Documents client progress towards achieving treatment goals

Maintains knowledge of current best practices
- Assists in booking and preparation of parent training programs
- Plans, creates and implements activities for language groups
- Assists in data collection
- Adheres to the policies and procedures
- Performs other duties as assigned

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS:

- Graduate Certificate Communicative Disorders Assistant
- Eligible for membership in the Communicative Disorders Assistant Association of Canada.
- Alternative combinations of education and experience may be considered.

EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE:

- Previous work or volunteer experience with children
- Communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally
- Ability to work independently and within a transdisciplinary team.
- Utilize a family-centered approach in service delivery.

**Salary**: $23.50-$27.64 per hour
