**JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**

Concurrent Disorders Clinicians (CDC) employ a strengths-based approach to supporting individuals with addictions and mental health issues. You are part of a collaborative team that supports people who use substances through assessment, support and transition plans, referrals, and therapeutic interventions. You make a difference

Our Addictions and Mental Health department has a variety of programs that allow Concurrent Disorders Clinicians to grow their skills and support people who use substances in different ways.

Concurrent Disorders Clinicians:

- Use standardized assessment tools to identify needs
- Develop and implement strengths-based support plans
- Engage in individual and group counselling using cognitive behavioural, motivational interviewing, and other evidence-informed modalities
- Support access to service by engaging in outreach when required
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure a coordinated approach to meeting client needs

Hours of work: 37.5-hours per week. CDC staff work primarily Monday to Friday days, offering evening hours at least one day per week until 8pm

Concurrent Disorders Clinicians may have the opportunity to take on different assignments within the department which could include: leading therapeutic programming within our Withdrawal Management Treatment Services, providing community-based outpatient treatment focused on gambling or youth, or providing services on site at the Brant Haldimand Norfolk Rapid Access Addiction Medicine (BHN RAAM) clinic or CMHA Safe Beds program.

Training: Initial comprehensive training related to all aspects of the role, as well as access to ongoing professional development.

**REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS**
- Have a college diploma in the Human/Social Services field, with a University Degree in a related Social Sciences preferred
- Have current registration with a professional governing body such as CRPO or OCSWSSW
- Have a minimum of 2 years’ combined education/experience in substance use, concurrent disorders and/or mental health clinical settings
- Be proficient in MS Office and be familiar with databases
- Have access to reliable transportation
- Be able to manage frequent exposure to vicarious traumatic stress
