**JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**
Concurrent Disorders Clinicians (CDC) employ a strengths-based approach to supporting individuals with addictions and mental health issues. You are part of a collaborative team that supports people who use substances through individualized support and transition plans, facilitating referrals, and engaging in individual and group therapeutic interventions. You make a difference
This CDC position is within the Withdrawal Management and Treatment Services (WMTS) portfolio, which encompasses bed-based withdrawal management and our gender-specific 5-week treatment programs, offered as both a live-in and day program. As part of the treatment team, your core role is to lead group therapeutic programming to support client skill development and recovery. In addition, you will engage in individual counselling, develop and/or follow a support plan, support client transition back to community through connection to ongoing care, support them to be successful within a congregate living environment, and collaborate with internal and external partners to support client recovery. A bed-based environment uniquely positions the CDC to build strong therapeutic relationships, and support clients to attain their goals. Your primary assignment will be the men’s treatment program; however, our CDC team is expected to support across both gender-based treatment programs as needed.
As a Concurrent Disorders Clinician, you will:
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive support to clients
- Use cognitive behavioural interventions, motivational interviewing skill, and other evidence-informed modalities
- Teach skills such as problem-solving, anger management, emotion regulation, and coping strategies
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure a coordinated approach to meeting client needs
- Support a strengths-based service plan with clients based on a standardized, comprehensive assessment tool
- Ensure a safe therapeutic environment for all clients accessing care, by supporting clients to follow program expectations
- Document client care in our client data system and communicate issues effectively within the team
Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week (Mon - Fri 8 am - 330 pm)
Training: Initial comprehensive training related to all aspects of the role, as well as access to ongoing professional development
