Urban Forestry Field Coordinator

- As the Urban Forestry Field Coordinator, you will liaise with internal and external interested parties and develops collaborative projects and programs to enhance Calgary's Urban Forest by building and maintaining strong partnerships with community groups, government agencies, and other key organizations. Primary duties include:
- Develop project scope/ plans, for other Urban Forestry field staff to implement. This will include recommendations on timelines, and resource allocations.
- Collaborate with field crews, volunteers, community, and other partners to ensure efficient and effective project implementation.
- Collect and analyze field data to inform and update on any program planning and evaluation. This could be completed using photos, sketches, written data collection, or GIS map updates.
- Liaise with interested parties and ensure information is disseminated to the correct people in a timely fashion.
- Manage partner expectations and resolve conflicts.
- Recommend appropriate permits, contracts, agreements to be implemented to formalize any relationships as required.
- Represent the organization at community meetings and events and respond to relevant 311 Service Requests from the public.
- Contribute towards production of improved strategies or processes that are applicable to Urban Forestry. This may entail working closely with other internal departments to produce solutions.
**Qualifications**
- A completed 2 year diploma in Horticulture, Project Management, Business Administration or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in areas such as Project Management, Forestry or Horticulture, customer relations or related.
- Access to a personal vehicle for occasional business use will be required.
- A valid Class 5 driver's license (or provincial equivalent) with no more than 6 demerits, with no current suspensions or charges pending is required.
- Ability to obtain a City Operator's permit.
- Working knowledge of the following: Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping software, financial management and human resource management are considered assets.
- Must possess a high degree of political sensitivity and business acumen with effective planning and problem-solving skills.
**Working Conditions**:This role requires traveling to various locations within the City on a weekly or bi-weekly bases.
