Manage a multi-jurisdictional team that delivers urban forestry services to ensure The City has a healthy and sustainable urban forest.
- Plan, implement and track the maintenance, programming and budgets of urban forestry and tree assets.
- Liaise with other areas of Parks, City business units, and various external associations and societies to ensure good partnerships and address issues or concerns.
- Manage all Human Resources functions for direct reports, including hiring, training, coaching, assigning and delegating work, managing performance and discipline.
- Provide asset management support as it relates to budget plans, inventory data, and life cycle and capital project planning.

**Qualifications**
- A Journeyman Landscape Gardener Program Certificate, as recognized by the Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training Board, plus at least 10 years of related experience; OR
- A completed 2 year technical diploma in Horticulture or a related field plus at least 8 years of related experience; OR
- A related degree in Business, Management, or Horticulture plus at least 4 years of related experience.
- Equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered.
- Working knowledge of the following: Geographic Information System (GIS) mapping software, financial management and human resource management are considered assets.
- Possess a high degree of political sensitivity and business acumen with effective planning and problem-solving skills.

- Compensation: Level E $83,059 - 125,413 per annum
Days of Work: This position works a 5 day
-work week earning 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.

Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week
