We’re looking for our next PR Manager. Could It Be You?
The purpose of this role is to effectively and increasingly use PR as a brand awareness and marketing tool for our multiple LOBs, products and services of Questrade Financial Group. This role will help us build a positive image and awareness for Questrade Financial Group, its brands and products.
What’s it like working as a PR Manager at Questrade?
Working with multiple internal stakeholders and AOR our Public Relations Manager (PR Manager) will nurture a strong industry/media network, increase awareness and develop an enviable company image by developing and executing effective communication and media relations strategies.
This is a role that touches a number of teams throughout the organization, and requires strong partnerships with our Product Management, Brand, Design, Data and Analytics, and Marketing Communications teams.
The individual in this role will create and grow a favorable public image for our brand/company by communicating news, accomplishments and/or points of views. They will field media questions and pitch stories to the media, prepare media kits and organize press conferences/events as needed. They also counter negative publicity and handle crisis and emergency communications.

**In this role, responsibilities include but are not limited to**:

- Have passion for Questrade’s unique position in the market and can help draw attention to our brand and our mission
- Coordinate public relations activities for both our consumer facing brand and our employer brand
- Develop a PR plan including strategy, goals, budget and tactics
- Develop a media relations strategy, seeking high-level placements in print, broadcast and online media
- Leverage existing media relationships and cultivate new contacts within media and key influencers
- Manage media inquiries and interview requests
- Create talking points for Questrade spokespeople
- Create content for press releases, byline articles and keynote presentations
- Monitor, analyze and communicate PR results on a quarterly basis
- Evaluate opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships and advertising on an on-going basis.
- Build thought-leadership opportunities to grow awareness and reputation
- Maintain a keen understanding of industry trends and make appropriate recommendations regarding strategy surrounding them
- Work with our social media team to engage audiences across traditional and new media
- Generate non-traditional ideas, experiential events to further amplify our campaigns and product launches
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure all relevant PR content is on-brand, accurate, and consistent in positioning and tone of voice
- Work with other members of the creative team (writers and designers) to generate fact sheets, infographics and other visual elements for distribution

- 5-7 years experience in public relations
- Proven track record designing and executing successful public relations campaigns at both a local and national level
- Experience in briefing and managing company spokesperson for both broadcast and print media interviews
- Exceptional writing and editing skills
- Solid experience with social media including blogs, Facebook, Twitter, etc.
- Event planning experience
- BA/MA degree in Journalism, Marketing, Advertising, Communications or a related discipline
- Very strong organization and prioritization skills.
- Ability to work within tight and/or changing deadlines
- Effective relationship building skills with the ability to work well at all levels of an organization and interact confidently with senior management
- Strong presentation skills and ability to rationalize
