Human Resources/operations Manager

**Job Posting: Human Resource/ Operations Manager**
**Key Duties and Responsibilities**
The Manager will oversee human resource management, including personnel recruitment, onboarding and orientation, professional and cultural development, adherence to policy and procedure and more. The Manager will be responsible for the daily management of the Centre’s properties and its assets.
**Qualifications**:
- Post-Secondary education in business administration; human resource management; or related field; and
- Experience working in human resource management and/or program management, preferably within a non-profit, charitable, community-based, Indigenous organization.
**OR combination of education and experience deemed acceptable by the Hiring Committee.**
- Excellent understanding of, and demonstrated skills in, human resource management and organizational leadership;
- Knowledge of the Friendship Centre Movement and Indigenous culture;
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, and problem-solving skills;
- Able to make sound business decisions and provide evidence-based recommendations to senior management;
- Working knowledge of current applicable legislation (ie. Employment Standards Act), practices, standards and policies;
- Experience in operations management, including management of property, health and safety, proposal and grant writing;
- Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills;
- Sound leadership and teambuilding skills, building positive working relationships with staff and management;
- Computer literacy, including working skills with Microsoft Professional
- Must have the ability to work in a busy office environment with frequent interruptions; work independently and as a team, with mínimal supervision;
- Must have a valid driver’s license, a reliable car and be willing to travel as required;
- Indigenous heritage a preference (ref: Aboriginal Employment Preference Policy); and,
- A satisfactory Criminal Reference Check (CPIC) with a Vulnerable Sector Search (VSS) will be a condition of the employment offer.

**Job Type**
Full-time - 1 Year contracted position (covering maternity leave)
**Salary**: $ 60,000 - $65,000 annually (with a 6-month probation)
**Benefits**:
Health care spending account, 2 weeks paid vacation, 10 days of
paid sick time.
**Schedule**: 8:30-4:30 Monday to Friday with
evenings and weekends as needed
