Port Coquitlam, Canada Glastech Glazing Contractors Ltd. Full time

Major Responsibilities
- Responsible and accountable for overall operation of the Department - field/office
- Increase sales - work closely with Business Development group and build team accordingly.
- Leverage existing customer base - _create/build relationships_
- Work closely with Operation and Project Management on warranty determination for past projects
- Coordinate assignment and completion of small projects with Senior Project Manager
- Department Budget
- Analyze and establish competitive market pricing for materials and labour including minimum charges
- Prepare, assist & review estimates
- Assist all roles in the department when needed
- Ensure timely response to and action on service requests
- Develop new and leverage existing vendor relationships as required
- Sign off on billings
- Sign off on expenses
- Review pre-start with Project team. Ascertain warranty or billable prior to beginning.
- Final project review with Project team
- Effectively communicate with service team members
- Work closely with Accounts Receivable to resolve disputes
- Resolve customer disputes
- Legacy
- Create file for department processes and procedures
- Documented roles and responsibilities for each position
- Key account information/process
- Succession plan
- Personal growth plans
- Employee reviews
- All other duties as assigned

Education & Training
Post-graduate certificate or Diploma in Construction Project Management shall be an asset

Knowledge of: the current BC Building Code as it applies to commercial glazing.

Possess valid Class 5 driver’s license Question. Are we looking for an on the road manager or office based? I’d say initially it will be both as this person needs to do occasional site visits as well as clients calls to develop to department

Have good driving record to permit insurability on company vehicle(s) as above.
Experience
Seven or more years of commercial glazing experience, with at least two years in a management/office role.

Demonstrated competency in the following:

- Communication and leadership with staff, and all stakeholders
- Judgment and integrity in business decision making commensurate with this role
- Multi-tasking and balancing multiple demands, priorities and functions.
- Ability to anticipate and provide solutions for management of risk
- Time Management - both personal and to manage others.
- Knowledge of construction industry materials and methods and procedure for manufacture of products

Decision Making & Problem SolvingRecommends broad policies and long range strategies.Supervisory & Management ResponsibilityProvides direct supervision to Service Department; all employees doing skilled or difficult work. Broadly impacts many other positions through progressive flow/sharing of information. Participates as member of Project Management Team to define strategy and assist with continuous/progressive improvements to business.Independence of ActionEmployee works independently under the guidance of the General Manager.ConfidentialityMuch data and information used regarding construction projects is classified as secret which is confidential.
