**Responsibilities**
You will be working closely with the Executive Director to take work off his plate, to free him up to focus on further growth of AWMAC. As such, your scope can build over time and, in this position, you have a great space to learn and grow.
Duties will vary from day-to-day but include simple tasks like answering the phone, ordering supplies, and keeping the office neat, to more complex work such as proof reading and editing, spearheading event planning, preparation of membership meetings, administration of our awards of excellence events, and invoicing and basic bookkeeping.
**Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma.
- Experience as an Administrative Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
- Clear, professional, and courteous verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly demeanor.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and efficiency with all tasks.
- Ability to deal with sensitive or difficult situations and maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent organizational skills to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently with effective problem-solving skills.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Basic bookkeeping experience, ideally experience with Sage 50 or similar accounting software.
- Ability to learn and work with new software.
