Join our growing team We are seeking an experienced **Manager of Accounting and Tax** to work with clients and staff in our busy Collingwood office, located at 10126 Highway 26 East, Unit #2. **Start Date**: Immediate

**Work from Home / Remote: Hybrid work from home**

**Wage**: $75,000 - $90,000 (Some flexibility based on the level of experience)

The Manager's responsibilities include preparing, reviewing, and analyzing financial records and reports, preparation of year-end financial statements and corporate tax returns as well as personal and corporate tax planning. Oversee a team of accountants and administrators, including assessing staff performance, providing feedback, training and create goals and procedures. Dedicated team players with strong work ethics will have the potential for increased responsibilities and personal growth.

**Responsibilities for this position include**:

- Lead client engagements for a wide variety of clients including small and medium enterprises
- Identify, develop, and implement strategies for clients to capitalize on business and tax opportunities. This includes preparing & reviewing tax reorganizations and reviewing corporate, trust, and estate tax returns
- Build positive working relationships with clients
- Participate in business development initiatives including identifying new business opportunities with existing clients
- Participate in the review and completion of working papers, financial statements, and corporate tax returns for compilation engagements according to Firm and regulatory standards for clients in a variety of businesses
- Review and completion of tax assignments including preparation of tax returns (T1, T2s, T4s, T5s, HST), and ensure queries are cleared and deadlines are met
- Review accounting and year-end accounting for our clients using Caseware
- Participate in the adoption of digital tools and strategies to drive an innovative workplace
- Provide leadership to all staff; communicates company goals, safety practices, and deadlines to team members. Motivate team members, assess performance, and provide assistance to management, including training, and ensure management is updated regularly on team performance
- Provide daily check-ins
- Any other duties as assigned
- A bachelor’s degree is required; a master’s degree is preferred
- 5 years’ experience in public accounting with a specialization in tax for a minimum of 2 years
- You understand your client’s industry, challenges, and opportunities; clients describe you as positive, professional, and delivering high-quality work
- A CPA designation is mandatory
