**Schedule**:Tuesdays to Saturdays 9:30am to 5:30pm
**Job Summary**:
Under the direction of the Clubhouse Manager, the Program Coordinator - Young Adult Program is responsible for the day to day operations and maintenance of the Young Adults Program by developing, implementing and evaluating programs, staff & client management, strategic plans, goals, objectives and policies. The position will perform such tasks as referral and vacancy management, administrative tasks, providing supervision to a staff group and ensuring program maintenance and safety. In addition to this the position the Program Coordinator is responsible for supporting the direct delivery of support services to clients by ensuring that staff deliver program and support services, and enable clients to enter, maintain and exit programs when appropriate.
**Job Qualifications**:
- BA in Mental Health or related field and two years experience or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Three years in a mental health setting including community and vocational experience, including 1 of those years being supervisory experience and 1 year of program development and evaluation.
- Experience working with youth.
- Valid Emergency First Aid Certificate
- Current Ministry of Justice Criminal Records Clearance required if hired
- Class 5 driver’s license and access to a vehicle
- Food Safe certificate
- WHMIS certificate
**Knowledge and Abilities**:
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to delegate and resolve conflict.
- Knowledge of the principles underlying crisis management and intervention.
- Knowledge of culturally sensitivities.
- Knowledge of concurrent disorders.
- Knowledge of psychosocial rehabilitation principles.
- Knowledge of housing issues and community resources.
- Ability to work with people with a mental illness.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to work independently and in cooperation with others.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
- Ability to organize and prioritize.
- Ability to establish and maintain rapport with clients.
- Ability to observe and recognize changes in clients.
- Is physically and mentally able to perform the duties.
- Computer and administration skills are required.
- Knowledge of vocational, housing, mental health and addictions issues and community resources.
- Have a sound knowledge of psychosocial rehabilitation principles
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
