**Job Description**:
In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.

Reporting to the Director, Medical Staff Contracts, Compensation and Practice Design and working with Island Health senior executive, medical leadership, Ministry of Health and other external partners, the Practice Design Consultant is responsible for the development of a comprehensive plan, framework, and tools to support the development of medical staff service descriptions, contracts and cost profiles associated with Physician Compensation initiatives across programs and sites within Island Health.

Experienced in research, data collection and analysis, the Practice Design Consultant recognizes the complexity of leading change with a diverse group of stakeholders utilizing communication, data collection, analysis and facilitation skills to carry out the accountabilities. This role requires excellent communication, systems thinking, analytical skills, creativity and an understanding of the current Physician Master Agreement (PMA). The Practice Design Consultant works both independently and as part of a team; most often in a team leadership role.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education, Training And Experience**:
A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Master's degree in a related discipline such as Business Administration, Health Administration, or Health Informatics, plus a minimum of seven (7) years of recent related experience in healthcare and business case research and development, written reports and presentations, customer-focused services or equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable to the organization. Experience in budget management and reconciliation in a healthcare environment is an asset.

- Demonstrated judgment, analytical and problem solving skills.
- Creativity and flexibility to meet customer needs within Physician Master Agreement constraints
- Excellent oral/written communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines and work independently.
- Precise attention to accuracy and detail.
