**Job Description**:
In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.

Reporting to the Director, the Consultant, Training and Education provides advice, expertise, support and education in the delivery of several key human resource functions including training & organizational development and change management. As a member of the People Portfolio the Consultant provides organization-wide and program-specific services to support strategic and operational objectives and enhance individual, team and organizational capacity and effectiveness. Services include consulting, coaching, assessment, planning and facilitation in areas such as leadership, team learning, training and education, and change and transition management. The Consultant, working with a variety of teams across the organization plans, designs and delivers leadership and employee development, training and education programs and/or strategies.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education, Training And Experience**:
A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Master's degree in Organization Development, Organizational Psychology, Organizational Behaviour, Human Resource Management, Adult Education or related field and five (5) years' recent related experience in area of expertise.

**Skills And Abilities**:

- Solid understanding of human resource practices, adult learning principles, leadership theory, and change and project management methodology.
- Ability to assess, design, implement and evaluate learning strategies and methodologies based on adult learning principles and practices.
- Ability to problem-solve in order to incorporate the organization's systems and strategies when developing viable solutions to problems. Demonstrated consulting and facilitation skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills - both verbally and in writing, including strong presentation skills, virtual and in person to a variety of audiences.
- Mentorship and coaching skills.
- Project management and change management experience.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
