**Job Description**:
In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health), patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.

Reporting to the Executive Director, Innovation and Architecture, the Innovation Consultant is responsible for identifying opportunities, developing and implementing strategic innovation initiatives, and providing consultation and support functions to clients (Island Health staff, physicians and leaders) requiring project, change management, and design services on innovation initiatives. Provides team based consultant services for large multi-partner and organization-wide innovation initiatives under the direction of the Executive Director, Innovation and Architecture. Develops, plans, manages and implements assigned project(s) on behalf of the client. Will be responsible for conducting research, facilitating workshops, and providing strategic advice to clients on how to drive innovation and growth.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education, Training And Experience**:
A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Health Informatics, Business Administration or a related discipline. A minimum of five (5) years' experience within innovation consulting, product management or a related field, with a minimum of three (3) of those years having experience specific to innovations. Certification in Project Management, Product Management and/or Agile/SCRUM. Strong knowledge of design thinking and innovation methodologies. Experience working with diverse industries and clients.

- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Knowledge and experience with current agile project management practices, open source, cloud platforms and digital services.
- Knowledge of current innovation best practices from ideation through to agile delivery.
- Proven ability to lead agile teams and working within matrixed project structures to deliver solutions.
- Lifelong learner - committed to keeping abreast of latest technological and healthcare advancements.
- Ability to teach/educate adult learners SCRUM and agile methodology.
- Demonstrated ability to problem-solve with an overall Island Health perspective in alignment with key strategic priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and manage relationships with internal and external strategic partners and solution providers.
