Sales Manager, Group Sales

**Job Summary**
Under the guidance of the Director of Sales, the Sales Manager is primarily responsible for soliciting, developing, and securing group business opportunities to meet and exceed budgeted group revenue goals
**Role and Responsibilities**
- Prospect, qualify and close group business to achieve personal and hotel revenue goals through effective lead generation, sales calls, site inspections and networking.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, including group accounts and meeting planners, to ensure repeat business and referrals.
- Conducts targeted account research in assigned market segments to determine revenue potential.
- Develop/maintain knowledge of market trends, competition and customers.
- Monitor and handle inquiries, and provide client proposals in accordance with established departmental policies and procedures.
- Negotiate guest room rates, meeting room rental, function space, and/or hotel services within approved booking guidelines. Accurately produce sales contracts, rate agreements, and client-facing communication.
- Participate in Daily business Review (DBR) meeting, pre-convention meetings, training and other sales-related meetings as required.
- Work with other departments to facilitate services agreed upon by the sales office and prospective clients. Disseminate sales-related information to other departments as appropriate.
- Represent the hotel at trade shows, conventions and industry events to enhance brand awareness, and participate in sales trips to key feeder markets to generate new business leads.
- Arrange and conduct special events, site inspections, and off-site presentations for potential clients. Entertain clients in accordance with established company and hotel policies and guidelines.
- Produces and implements quarterly action plan to achieve weekly activities sales quotas and annual revenue goals.
- Maintain client files and update information daily in accordance with established departmental policies and procedures. Produce weekly/monthly sales-related reports and sales forecasts for assigned area of responsibility.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Sales.

**Qualifications**
- Minimum of 2 years sales experience in a Luxury Hotel or related industry.
- Proven sales performance experience in meeting and exceeding sales revenue goals.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of guests, employees and management.
- Energetic and outgoing, with a positive attitude, driven to provide outstanding guest service.
- A working knowledge of Delphi is a plus.
- Ability to travel and work flexible hours and days.
