**Manager of Communications & Social Media**
The **Manager of Communications & Social Media** is the communications department lead with specialized skills in Media Relations, Social Media, Digital Media, Graphic Design, Web Design/Management and Publications. This position reports to the Director of Stakeholder Relationsand oversee relevant third party activities.
**Full time (35 hours/week) Permanent, Employee benefits after 3-month probationary period**
**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Create and manage the Skills Ontario communications/social media objectives and implementation strategy
- Creation of publications, promotional material, and video content
- Create speeches, articles, and releases for CEO & Senior Management
- Manage the editorial process for all Skills Ontario publications
- Ensuring all content follows Skills Ontario style, voice, and guidelines
- Working with the Director of Stakeholder Relations (DSR) to set and monitor annual budget for communications
- Produce and distribute Skills Ontario Newsletters/Blog with approval from DSR
- Manage production of video content for Skills Ontario, working with organization spokespeople and content experts as needed
- Work with Competitions department to organize signage and branding
- Work with and oversee third parties as applicable to ensure coms plan execution
- With Director, identify opportunities to highlight the work of Skills Ontario and its partners
- Create and design promotional materials (posters, flyers, ads, Skills Ontario swag)
- Oversee the Skills Ontario editorial and content strategy
- Create ad buys and design promotional materials as needed
- Pitch news stories to media and coordination of interviews and spokespeople
- Proactively engage and cultivate network of engaged and supportive media contacts
- Oversee development and execution of the Skills Ontario social media strategy
- Source and work with outside vendors, including photographers, graphic designers, audio/visual agencies, and others as needed
- Support Director of Stakeholder Relations and stewardship coordinator to develop and implement sponsorship and development initiatives
- All other duties as assigned
**Requirements**:
- Experience with Adobe Premiere video editing and/or mobile editing
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Publisher, Excel)
- Familiarity with web editing and content management systems
- Knowledge and experience with various forms of media (traditional and social)
- Proactive leadership skills and collaborative attitude
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Relationships with various media personalities/outlets an asset
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
**Salary**: $46,075.66-$60,000.00 per year
