Rugby Alberta is seeking a motivated individual who is passionate about the game of rugby and is looking for a part-time **Communications Coordinator** role.

The position of Communications Coordinator will ideally be based out of the Rugby Alberta head office in Edmonton, AB and reports directly to the Executive Director. Remote work in another major centre in Alberta may be considered.

Expected hours of work will be 10-15 hours per week throughout the year, with flexibility for more/less hours during in-season/off-season periods. Salary commensurate with experience.

**Responsibilities**
- Works with all staff members to promote initiatives
- Responsible for writing Membership communications
- Provide tools and ideas to improve marketing decisions for the organization
- Oversee the implementation of a marketing strategy - including branding campaigns, events, digital marketing, PR, etc.
- Draft stories and collect testimonials from participants and partners.
- Lead the management of various stakeholder communications programs, including the annual report, stakeholder newsletter, and stakeholder subscriber lists.
- Provide long and short-term critical path planning for website initiatives and ensure website is current and relevant
- Contribute to strategies for growing and leveraging our social media follower base including using promotions, contests, polls, ads, surveys and referral programs.

**Desired Skills and Qualifications**
- College diploma or University degree in Marketing, Communications or related field equivalent combination of education and experience in related fields
- Works well in a team environment, able to foster an inclusive and collaborative environment
- Knowledge of rugby, with a background in playing, refereeing or/and coaching
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders
- Strong writing skills with ability to produce copy of varying tone and messaging based on target audience and medium
- Experience in web development or management of websites
- Experience with the Microsoft Office suite of programs, social media, and managing informational systems
- Work experience or coursework in at least one of the following areas: marketing, communications, public relations and/or writing
- Excellent communication skills, including written, oral, copyediting, and proofreading skills
- Positive attitude and a strong work ethic
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, multitask, and prioritize
- Model a mature and professional demeanor and have strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with a wide range of team members.

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 10-15 per week

**Salary**: Up to $30.00 per hour
