**Job Summary**
Manager Transportation and Warehousing is responsible for the timely and efficient execution of all transportation and warehousing orders. You are central to the growth of a fast-paced multi-disciplinary team. Your team will rely on you to provide structure, process management, support and to keep things running smoothly.

You are quick learner and multitasker. “No” doesn’t exist, only solutions. You need to be able to think outside the box to provide the solution to customer’s needs.

**Responsibilities**:

- Building and managing a dynamic transportation team to plan and dispatch Land, Ocean, Air, and Drayage orders.
- Establishing productivity and quality control standards; developing budget and cost controls; ensuring adherence through diligent follow-up.
- Developing and maintaining positive relationships with Ocean, Air, Land and Drayage partners.
- Assisting with sales projects to increase sales volumes.
- Orchestrating day-to-day Land, Ocean and Air operations.
- Implementing effective planning and forecasting strategies.
- Liaising with carriers, co-loaders, drayage companies, customs brokers, and other service providers for land, ocean and air projects
- Coaching and fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Identifying issues and implementing solutions for continuous improvement in service, cost, and profitability.
- Negotiating contract rate agreements with carriers; reconciling rates with partners.
- Planning, scheduling, and overseeing activities to meet or exceed KPIs.
- Solving problems creatively, implementing solutions, and enhancing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Managing scheduling and requirements for import and export activities.
- Assisting in the transition and implementation of new software platforms and technology tools for the team.
- Preparing standardized price sheets, managing client quotes, and overseeing P&L reports.
- Resolving disputes with suppliers or clients related to Land ,Ocean and Air projects.
- Maintaining a dashboard to track project-based P&L, team efficiency, and resource consumption, project status and planning
- Training / Teaching and Mentoring Staff - creating training material to assist in professional development
- Ensuring all business-related documents comply with industry standards and company procedures.
- Guaranteeing all legal documents are reviewed and approved by the legal team and management.
- Defining roles, responsibilities, and professional growth plans for the team, and maintaining an updated organizational chart.
- Monitoring staff vacation and sick days and reporting to accounting.
- Other projects as assigned

**Qualifications**
- University degree or equivalent preferably in management, business, logistics or related discipline;
- Minimum 10 year’s experience in brokerage / freight forwarding / logistics in Canada.
- Process oriented and always looks for ways to standardize and improve tasks and increase efficiencies.
- You are able to prioritize, organize and autonomously act on a large number of tasks simultaneously and with meticulous attention to detail.
- You are persistent, take initiative and have a “solution” attitude.
- Professional level of verbal and written communication skills in English
- Gather, analyze and interpret data and metrics to present to senior management.
- Assess, improve and maintain TMS and WMS systems by liaising and working with IT department.
