**Organization Overview**
The Learning Disabilities Association of York Simcoe (LDAYS) is a charitable non-profit organization which was established in 1976. We provide leadership in Learning Disabilities advocacy, research, education, and services, and strive to advance the full participation of children, youth and adults with Learning Disabilities (LD) in society. At LDAYR our vision is to assist individuals with Learning Disabilities achieve their full potential. In doing so, we must consider three central branches of our association-our products and services, image and brand and funding. Collectively, with the help of our community, members and funders we can achieve this vision. We promote positive change through: Innovation, Collaborative Partnerships, Credible Advocacy, Informed Public Policy, and Quality Products and Services.
**Position Overview**
Reporting to the Executive Director this position will drive and enable community engagement and development by fostering program partnerships, leading, and coordinating community events and working on community-based initiatives in Simcoe. Duties include brainstorming potential partnerships or methods for engagement with the local community, maintaining a calendar for outreach events and working closely with community partners to plan and execute various outreach events. To be an excellent Program Community Development Coordinator, you must be organized and detail-oriented, comfortable working with diverse teams and individually. **Key Responsibilities**
SUPERVISION:
- Leadership and Staff Development: (contract, part-time and volunteers): Includes supervision regarding program outreach and marketing
- Assists in planning, organizing, and conducting community outreach programs, community events, workshops, conferences, and discussion groups to promote health education and healthy behaviors.
- Assists in educating the public on health and healthy behaviors and on community services available.
- Hires and evaluates facilitators training needs and arranges for training initiatives, particularly regarding qualifications and certifications.
- Is available for crisis support, physical/behaviour interventions, hands-on assistance and decision-making.
COSTUMER SERVICE:
- Demonstrates respect and understanding of the diversity of our communities in Simcoe an asset.
- Assist with conducting community needs assessments to better understand the need to better inform planning of local initiatives and strategies in Simcoe communities.
- Assist in the development and implementation of program development
- Play a lead role in the management of community events including analyzing, follow up reports and debriefing.
- Continuous improvement of customer service experience through anticipating, managing and resolving concerns, requests, inquiries and successes
ADMINISTRATION:
- Provides data such as customer statistics on usage, attendance, revenue, fill rates, and other important measures.
- Prepare reports for the Executive Director which may include data analysis, customer satisfaction, program usage and event participation.
- Management of payroll verification for facilitators.
- Adherence to all mandates deadlines.
- Provides input to budgeting process, including monthly forecasting and monitoring of revenues, expenditures and net.
- Keeps facilitators and volunteer data regarding certifications and training
- Schedule outreach events and works with community agencies.
- Corresponds with stakeholders on program event details
- Develop and implement sessions and workshops as well as run in-person and virtual programming in an engaging fashion.
PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT:
- Report on trends and areas of growth including future opportunities. Manage quality programming through ongoing program site visits and management of virtual programing.
- Program outreach, promotion, marketing communications and delivery of presentations.
- Seeking new opportunities for and managing the organizations community outreach activities in Simcoe.
- Prepare an implementation action plan aimed at increasing the level of public awareness of the programs in Simcoe.
- Reports on trends, emerging issues and potential areas of growth
- Assist in the development and implementation of special recreational events, and social needs of clients.
- Facilitating program training sessions, adapting, and adjusting programming to meet clients' needs.
GENERAL:
- Act as liaison with community partners within Simcoe in coordination with the York Region Outreach Coordinator
- Mentoring and supervision of Placement Students throughout the school year.
